Dr. Ravi K. Kamepalli is a Board Certified Infectious Disease physician and an Epidemiologist. He is a Certified Wound Specialist and a Diplomate of American Board of Obesity Medicine at Regional Infectious Diseases and Infusion Center, Inc. Dr. Kamepalli received his medical degree from Guntur Medical College, Guntur, AP, India. He did his residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York and Infectious Diseases Fellowship at Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Center, New York. He is a Fellow of Infectious Disease Society of America (FIDSA) for achieving professional excellence in Infectious Diseases. He was a Clinical Assistant Professor in Department of Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease, at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences. He was the Past Medical Director of Hyperbaric Clinic and Chief of Division of Infectious Diseases at St. Rita’s Medical Center. He has a passion for all things infection and wound related, with emphasis on healthcare delivery, transition of care and use of technology including telemedicine to break down barriers to healing. He has understanding and interest in population health as it helps to have greater impact. He has participated on multiple Expert Consensus Panels and has been a speaker at multiple national and international conferences. He is actively involved in clinical research in over 72 Clinical Trials. His dream project (http://www.nobadbugs.com/dream-project.html) is to create a self-sustaining health care system in India and he understands that is only though the use of population health methodologies and technologies like Telemedicine.

Healthy waists is an interactive telemedicine-based lifestyle change program delivered via live group video sessions. You and a group of participants will meet 26 times over the course of a year with the same registered dietitian / lifestyle coach and coordinated with in person medical visit. Using a science backed solution, your coach will educate and facilitate interactive discussions among you and your fellow group members. With the support of your coach and fellow group members, you will make small, incremental changes in your eating and physical activity to improve your health and prevent diabetes.
Healthy waists is a year-long program focused on long-term changes and lasting results. Sessions are once a week in the first three months of the program, then transition to every two weeks, and eventually every four weeks, as the program progresses. Each session is one hour long. A year might sound like a long commitment, but learning new habits, gaining new skills, and building confidence takes time! As you begin to eat better and become more active, you’ll notice changes in how you feel, and maybe even in how you look.
